When, and where?
Every day, five real moments from history. For each one you make two calls: pin the place on a map with no names on it, and set the year on a timeline. The same five for everyone, everywhere, one go a day.
Scoring
Each call is worth up to 100 points, so a moment is worth 200 and a perfect day 1,000.
- Where
- Pin it within a kilometre for full marks. The further away you are, the fewer points you get. Need help? You can switch on place names during a game, but it halves your Where points from then on.
- When
- Name the exact year for full marks. The timeline gives more room to recent history than to the ancient world, because we know recent dates more precisely, so being a few years out on a modern event costs about the same as a few decades out on a medieval one.
Challenge a friend
When you finish, copy or share your result. It comes with a link. Anyone who opens it plays your exact five and sees how they did against you, moment by moment. It doesn’t use up their own daily game.
Where the moments come from
Each moment is written, dated and placed by hand, researched from published sources. Every one has a single spot you can put a pin on, placed where it happened at the time.
